Commander of National Defence Volunteer Forces



Colonel Dainius Pašvenskas was born on 18 November 1971 in Kaišiadoriai district municipality. He started his military carrier in Lithuanian National Defence System in 1993. In 1994 he was assigned to NDVF territorial unit in Vilnius as a company commander, later as instructor in Territorial Trainning Center.

In 2000 D. Pašvenskas was assigned to NDVF Headquarter Operations section (G3). From 2004 Captain D. Pašvenskas served as assistant of Land Force Commander. In 2007 recieved major rank. From 2009 served as Chief of Planning section (G5).


In 2010 D. Pašvenskas was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and in 2013 was assigned as Commander of Kęstutis Motorised Infantry Battalion.


From 2014 till 2018 D. Pašvenskas served as assistant of Chief of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.


In 2018 D. Pašvenskas became a Commander Of National Defence Volunteer Forces of Lithuania. 


Colonel Dainius Pašvenskas graduated from The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, Baltic Defence College (Estonia), U.S. Army War College.

During long years of service colonel received Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Distinguished Service, Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal of Merit, other awards, acknowledgments, nominal gifts.

Colonel Dainius Pašvenskas is married has two children.
